From May 2009, the Cranfold Confederation have purchased a 17-seater minibus that will enable children to access extended services actvities that would not normally be available for them due to lack or cost of transport.
The minibus is available for use by any of the 9 schools and comes equipped with 15 booster seats for the younger children as well as breakdown cover.....just in case!
To make the bus really accessible to all schools, there is a confederation minibus driver who administers the bus use, carries out the weekly checks and can be booked by schools to drive the bus. The great benefit of this is that only one member of staff is then required to escort the children and also reduces the need for members of staff from all the schools to take the minibus driving test.
The bus has already been used for a wide variety of trips for the schools, the Confederation and the local Schools Sports Partnership. It will also be used by voluntary organisations, such as the local Scout and Guide groups, during the holidays and out of normal school hours.
