We are the Extended Services Confederation of the 10 schools in and around the Cranleigh area and linked to the Children's Sure Start Centres that will be available soon in Chilworth and Cranleigh.
The Confederation has many partnerships with local organisations to provide access to the Extended Services core offer for families and the community and this website aims to provide links and information to these many partnerships.
HISTORY OF THE CONFEDERATION
The Cranfold Confederation was formed in 2007 as a response to the need for Surrey schools to deliver Extended Services through Confederations. However, a number of the Confederation schools had already been sharing expertise for a number of years as members of the 4 – 16 Partnership. As the Confederation schools cover a wide and rural area, some families and communities may find that they have contacts with more than one confederation.
The South West Surrey Confederations bordering the Cranfold Confederation are East Guildford Confederation, West Guildford Confederation and Godalming Confederation. There is also a Federation of secondary schools within Waverley of which Glebelands and Gosden House are members.
FUNDING
Funding is allocated to Extended Confederations from Surrey County Council on a formula that combines an element of funding per member school and a per pupil element. Funding will be provided for 3 years after which time the Confederation will be responsible for funding its own activities, therefore it important that all the services provided meet the demands of the area and are well-used and received.
